Call to Order:
ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ Board of Regents Chair and Stevens called to order the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents President Selection Committee meeting at 4:01 p.m. (ET) on June 1, 2023. This is a special virtual meeting of this committee.
The press was notified of this meeting on May 25, 2023. Hon. Pam Duncan, ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ General Counsel, served as parliamentarian.
There being a quorum present, the meeting began.
Committee Co-Chair Stevens asked the Committee Members to introduce themselves. Board Liaison Hannah Rivera shared that everyone on this Committee, including the two college presidents will have one vote for any matters requiring action.
Approval of Minutes:
Chair Stevens asked if there were any corrections to the May 12, 2023, Regular Meeting Minutes. There being none, the minutes were declared approved as presented.
Review and Discussion of the ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ Presidential Job Description:
Committee Co-Chair Stevens turned the meeting over to ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ Chief of Staff, Board and Government Liaison, Hannah Rivera.
Ms. Rivera noted that there were no changes to ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ Presidential Job Description after distribution.
Parliamentarian Duncan also shared that every member who is on the Committee needs to sign and return the Statement of Confidentiality. She also noted that no Committee member will receive materials unless they have signed the Confidentiality Agreement.
Ms. Rivera turned the meeting over to Janice Fitzgerald and Jim McCormick from AGB, who are conducting the search. After a brief presentation, the Committee was asked for discussion.
During the discussion, it was noted that a doctorate degree is listed as a requirement in the Board Policy. Committee Co-Chair Martin stressed that the Committee would need to focus on individuals who have a doctorate degree.
Committee Co-Chair Stevens called for additional discussion.
Regents asked if materials regarding ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ would be accessible to all candidates; Ms. Fitzgerald shared that each candidate would receive an institutional profile and materials would be posted on the Presidential Search website. Parliamentarian Duncan also noted that the legislative resolution and the Huron Recommendations need to be shared with the candidates.
Regents asked the consultants how AGB conducts candidate reference checks. Mr. McCormick and Ms. Fitzgerald addressed the question with the process that AGB will use.
Committee Co-Chair Stevens called for additional discussion, hearing none, he moved to the next item on the agenda.
Ms. Rivera noted that a decision about the Senate Resolution may not be known until the Session ends in Spring of 2024.

The Committee will look at dates for the next ÌìÃÀÊÓÆµ Presidential Search Committee Meeting.
Committee Co-Chair Stevens called for any additional discussion. Hearing none, he called for a motion to adjourn.

Mr. Martin moved, and Mr. Hamilton seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
Chair Stevens called for the vote.
The motion was approved unanimously by those Regents present, and the meeting adjourned at 5:32 p.m. (ET)
