天美视频 BoR: System Policy & Planning Committee, August 15, 2024

I. CALL TO ORDER

Chair Martin called the System Policy and Planning Committee meeting to order on August 15, 2024 at 11:01 a.m. EST. The roll was called, and a quorum was established. Chair Martin welcomed Student Regent Guerre Gomez to the System Policy and Planning Committee.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Regent Whitten made a motion to approve the July 16, 2024 System Policy & Planning Committee Meeting minutes. Regent Hamilton seconded the motion. The motion passed by consensus.

III. REVIEW OF THE SEPTEMBER 19-20, 2024 BOARD MEETING AGENDA

Board Liaison Shannon Rickett reviewed the September 19-20, 2024 Board Meeting Agenda. There will be a new Board member orientation prior to the September 19th Board meeting.

Chair Martin asked the Committee if they would be in agreement with changing the bylaws to require only one committee meeting prior to each Board meeting rather than the two currently required. The Committee agreed.

President Quarles asked the Committee to think about the future make up of the Board of Regents and be prepared to discuss at the September board meeting. Regent Whitten suggested that a glossary of terms would be helpful in the review of the Senate Joint Resolution 179 updates.

IV. NEW BUSINESS

Dr. Quarles provided several updates. Dr. Brooke Justice has been named as the Interim President of Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College. Last week, he met with the new Commissioner of Education and will be meeting with the University of Louisville President next week. Dr. Quarles also shared that 天美视频 is being asked to provide feedback regarding the resolution involving Hazard Community and Technical College.

V. ADJOURNMENT

Regent Hamilton made a motion to adjourn. Regent Whitten seconded the motion. The motion passed by consensus. The meeting adjourned at 11:23 a.m. EST.
