The Duke's Course is a classic inland Scottish course. With its beautifully sculpted holes
laid open to pitch and run and each exploiting the natural features of its stunning parkland
setting, the Duke's Course is the perfect complement to the five St Andrews links courses.
Owned and managed by the Old Course Hotel and designed by five-time Open Champion, Peter
Thomson, this lush parkland course is perched on the hillside just a few minutes from the
hotel in Craigtoun Park and offers 18 holes of outstanding championship play. It is affectionately
known by club members and locals as The Duke's, not least because the inaugural round was
played by HRH The Duke of York in 1995.
In its natural parkland setting the course complements St Andrews' famous links and is a true test
for every golfer. The rolling fairways and undulating greens are always in excellent
condition. On an elevated site the course and clubhouse both enjoy spectacular views
of the town and bay of St Andrews towards Carnoustie. The clubhouse has been designed
to the luxurious standards of a five star resort and is a welcoming haven offering hospitality
in the best Scottish tradition.
